After getting knowledge and skills about tolerance, intercultural communication and the respect of culture, the participants of the project are now leading activities with youngsters of the Republic in schools and universities.
This constitutes the third phase of the project. The thirty young participants have been trained, now they take the role of trainers. They have formed small groups of 3 with a specific direction for their activities. From 7th to 11th September, the trainer Irina Protasova has accompanied the participants in different schools to assist them in the implementation of the activities.
Here are some examples of the activities that have already started:
Akpars, Daria and Veronika have visited a boarding school in the village of Lyulpany. There they organised the project “Find out more”, an intellectual game for the children to get acquainted with the culture of different nationalities, their common history and their common characteristics.
Violetta, Daniil and Evgeniya have chosen the media of comic books. Students of the Mari State University were invited to draw their own comic books to tackle the topic of tolerance. They were also presented with materials from the project RESPECT.
Ekaterina, Aleksandra and Igor organised a seminar for the staff of the school №26 of Yoshkar-Ola to raise awareness about the integration of foreign pupils and the constitution of peer-mentoring within the pupils.
A public presentation of each project will be held at the “Socio-political Centre of the Mari El Republic”. Everyone is invited to get acquainted with the work of the participants. More info, including the schedule, can be found here.
The third phase of the project runs until the end of December. The workings teams will regularly visit the educational institutions to have a chance to interact with a maximal number of pupils/students.
